Tara powder UNITAN TM is a natural source of tannins from the milling of the tara`spod (Caesalpinea Spinoza).
UNITAN TM contains hydrolysable tannins (derivated from pyrogallol), whose main components are particles of glucose and acids, as the gallic acid, m-gallic and ellagic.
Pyrogallol tannins can be hydrolyzed with acids and enzymes.
It can be used for all vegetable or vegetable / mixed skin types, for upholstery, leather,clothing and footwear.
It is also used in textile industry, making stained with iron salts, mordant dyeing and printing fabrics.
Tara produces a clear, flexible, soft and fitness for dyeing leather.
Suitable for vegetal type leather requiring good light fastness.
In conjunction with suitable oils, good fogging values leather are obtained.

Warning: UNITAN TM is a product-sensitive iron salts, like all plant extracts. Therefore in all operations tanning and retanning contact with ferrous materials should be avoid. To improve the performance of the product is recommended to add small amounts of UNICLAR to the liquors to prevent stains, as well as the final bath wash removing hides and stacking with the wash water.
